Penshaw Monument in Monochrome

Description

The imposing Penshaw Monument (officially the Earl of Durham's Monument) stands 70 feet high on Penshaw Hill, and is a replica of the Temple of Hephaestus in Athens. It was built between 1844-45, has a spiral staircase in one of the columns for supervised tours, and is floodlit in multicolour at night.
