Summerhill Force, Gibson's Cave

Description

Summerhill Force is the waterfall that cascades over Gibson's Cave at Bowlees, Newbiggin, County Durham. It is supposedly named after a 16th century outlaw called William Gibson, who hid there. It's a beautiful scenic spot a short walk from the car park at Bowlees.

This achieved a runner's up spot in Outdoor Photography Magazine (Feb 2024) for using filters - I used a circular polariser and a 0.9 soft grad.
